Constanze Maier is a designer and researcher currently based in Innsbruck, working in graphic design, performance, and installation. Her recent body of work mostly revolves around empirical research and the reciprocity of the designer and their work environment.

Constanze holds a BA in Communication Design from the HTWG Konstanz (GER) and an MA in Art and Design from the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague, where she graduated in 2022. Throughout exchange studies at ÉSAL (FR), her background in visual art began to merge with an interest in performance and liberal arts, thus shifting her practice towards a more research-based approach.

She has worked as a graphic designer with SPIN and Unit Editions in London (UK), as well as with karlssonwilker in NYC (US). Lately, she has been working as a designer and art director with Burton Europe (AUT) and The Distillery (AUT), and teaching Experimental Design at the Design Academy Innsbruck (AUT).

In her more recent work, she has been collaborating with scientists, journalists, and NGOs, focusing on the relationship between emotionality and embodied experience as a means to critically question and reflect on social and environmental topics. In 2022, she joined PARC (Platform for Arts Research in Collaboration) as a sounding board member.
